Jack McKinley was recently selected as new superintendent of Amelia County Public Schools. We welcome him to the district and the Amelia community.

Previously McKinley was the principal of Belle Heth Elementary School in Radford City Public Schools. With 15 years of experience in education, McKinley has served as an assistant principal, career and technical education director, and teacher. In addition, he has worked as a Spanish instructor for educators at New River Community College and director of the ACCESS VA/Gear Up Summer Program at Virginia Tech.

“I am extremely honored to be selected as the superintendent of Amelia County Public Schools,” said McKinley, “My family and I are excited to be a part of Amelia. I am impressed with the foundation of student achievement and the commitment to student success of Amelia County Public Schools. I am grateful to the members of the school system and community that have contributed to creating an excellent school system. I look forward to working together to celebrate our successes and strengthen the future of our students.”

Catherine Wilkinson, chairman of the Amelia County School Board, believes Mr. McKinley is a great choice for the division. “With Mr. McKinley’s leadership and the wonderful staff and present leadership, Amelia Schools will continue to move forward.”
