Mindy LaVecchia, the school counselor at Amelia Middle School, is excited to continue the immensely popular Lunch and Learn sessions for students in grades six through eight. LaVecchia initiated this program last year, actively reaching out to a diverse range of individuals and businesses to share insights on various career options.
ACMS had the distinct pleasure of welcoming Keisha Stephens, owner of Healing Hands in Amelia, on October 25, 2024. A certified nurse practitioner, Ms. Stephens engaged with students from all grade levels who are interested in pursuing careers in the health field. The turnout was exceptional, and the students eagerly absorbed her insights. During her visit, Ms. Stephens shared valuable information about various specialties, degree requirements, and potential salary ranges in the healthcare industry.
We are particularly grateful when our Amelia High School graduates give back to our school system and support our students. We extend our heartfelt thanks to her for taking time out of her busy schedule to contribute to the Lunch and Learn program. Her involvement made a significant positive impact on the students. This program provides valuable exposure to a variety of careers, helping students make informed decisions about their futures when the time comes.
