VSU Mobile Unit

6th grade Health and PE students had a very fun day of immersive and interactive learning! Virginia State University’s Mobile Education Unit was on site. Students had the opportunity to go through the unit, where VSU volunteers taught students about: the regions of VA, creating healthy meals that included all 5 food groups, agricultural trivia, types of meat that come from the different parts of a cow, and so much more.

Students also spent part of the class period learning how to tie the palmar and improved clinch knots, in preparation for their Twin Lakes field trip in two weeks. L.K. Mondrey, Amelia 4-H Extension Agent, organized both activities. We are so grateful for her time and commitment to providing our students with many interactive and engaging learning opportunities.
